Customer focussed
· Getting to ‘really’ know my customers is important to me. I strive to understand issues at face value but consider the wider context – this helps to find long term solutions.
· I bring my full self to clients – so you benefit from my professional capability but my personality too. I take my work seriously, but I also like to enjoy it and have fun.
· I’m determined, and my customers benefit from this - I strive for the best outcome, every time.
· I’m commercially astute, so I don’t view HR in isolation – the best results occur when there is a broader commercial understanding.
Transparent and honest
· I tend to ‘say it like it is’ – always handled constructively and with sensitivity but I believe honesty is always the best approach
· I share ‘the whole truth’ with my clients – I concentrate on the work in hand but always consider the wider implications to find the best possible outcome. This happens best, with open and transparent communication.
· I’m very ‘human’. I support with detailed knowledge and adherence to policy, process, and practice but I also consider how others may ‘feel’ leading to considered guidance.
Pragmatic, and professional
· I give highly pragmatic advice, making the complicated, uncomplicated (or at least less complicated.)
· I have a ‘can do’ attitude and I like to keep things simple.
· I’m an experienced negotiator – one of the reasons I enjoy the odd piece of Employee Relations work. I consider the facts, the required outcomes and the commercial risks and I advise accordingly.
Flexible and agile in how I apply HR
· I enjoy applying my corporate experience to smaller organisations. The key is to adapt HR practice for a suitable fit. This works well with HR transformation projects and ‘start up’ projects
· I like technology and I strive to adopt it where it adds value and creates efficiency
· I can turn my hand to ‘most’ things and I like the variety that brings
